But had the 'dead people are watching and helping out' had any credibility, I would surely have a chronic anal pain from my grandpa's 'help', and have cancer from the animosity of everyone in my dad's family. It's almost ironic to not believe that people who despised me simply for not believing that they will not continue after they die, are indeed not doing the very thing they believed they would do and hated me for disbelieving. We spent about 2 hours in his office. I met a number of celebrities during my time at Wired -- but he was the only hero of mine that I met. This was my experience. I sat down -- he had an office just off the entrance where his assistant worked. We're chatting and he stops. Carlin: Brad, do you want something to drink? Me: A Coke would be great. Carlin: ::Standing up, jingling through his pocket, pulling out 75 cents:: I'll be right back. He walks down the hall, out the office and to the Coke machine at the end of the hall. If anything, I am thankful I can reference all the two dozen or so really good expletives in one go by saying "Carlin's FCC bit". Thank you George!
