I had a little emotional WTF moment yesterday as I listened to the General Petraeus report on Iraq throughout the morning. Of course, as I scoured the news for commentary, I was interrupted by what seemed to be the bigger news of the day – Britney’s embarassing comeback attempt on the VMAs the night before. Yes, I got sucked in. I watched the video. Apparently, me and everyone else. According to NewTeeVee, 2.6 million people tuned into mtv.com to watch Britney’s train wreck, making it the biggest traffic day the website has ever seen. I wonder how much traffic CSPAN saw yesterday? Well I watched the congressional hearing. And I have to tell you it felt about as informative and culturally relevant as watching Britney’s lazy-eyed semi-conscious “performance” on MTV. We are all tools. We are being manipulated and insulted from all sides in this country and the sad part is, there is no one to blame but us. No one is in charge. The people at the top of the chain are just as deluded as the rest of us.
Thankfully, the good folks at National Lampoon lightened my mood a bit this morning with this, the uncensored version of Britney’s performance. Doing my part to spread cheer in the office, I passed the link around. To return the favor, Alexis sent me a link to the video above. And that’s when I knew it was all over. Happy 9/11 folks. The terrorists have won.

In way I think we can look at all this as cause to celebrate. The terrorists have not encoached on the American way life. We are not cowering in fear. Terrorism is strategy to undermine our confindence in the governement and its ability to protects us. But, its business as usual today on Sept. 11th. Sorry guys, mission not accomplished. Now excuse me, while I google for close ups of Britney’s bra fat.

What a pity The Queen of All Our Hearts (That’s Diana for the Yank uninitiated) wasn’t an American. I’d have been in complete stitches for months on end watching the grief-fest on You-Tube! The girl who made this load of BS either deserves an Oscar or an Enema to get rid of all her crap!
