Tons of derby going on in the upcoming months so I figured I’d make a little calendar. Mark these dates, folks! Mickispeedia’s coming to your town! No seriously, if you’ve been planning to check out derby, then you’ve got lots of opportunities on the horizon. Check it (*=Mickispeedia will be skating!):

*May 1st, Chino CA: Varsity Brawlers vs. Prison City. Tickets here. VB is my home team from LA Derby Dolls. This is our first flat track game!

May 9, The Doll Factory, Los Angeles CA: LA Riettes vs. Kansas City. This is an all star bout! The LA Riettes are the best players from our league. This bout is sure to be amazing! Note: I am not skating. Though I hope to one day, be a Riette. If you haven’t seen derby before, this is the game to watch. You’ll see the best skaters and to be frank, no one puts on a show like LADD at the Doll Factory. One bout, and you’ll be hooked. Make this one your first! Tickets here.

*May 15, San Diego CA: LA Ligers vs. San Diego Derby Dolls. The Ligers are our flat track B team. We’ve been invited to skate against San Diego’s B team. The rosters are pretty well-matched and SDDD knows a thing or two about flat track. So come out and see what’s sure to be an intense bout! I’m skating with the Ligers. w00t! Tickets here.

May 16, 17 El Segundo CA: THE BIG ONE! Angel City Derby Girls are hosting The Big One this year. What’s that you ask? It’s the 2nd annual CA Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament! All star players from all over the state battle it out on the flat track. Oh hell yes. Tickets here.

*May 23, Bakersfield and Orange County CA: LADD’s Fight Crew takes on Bakersfield Rollergirls on the flat track. We’re also working on a possible Ligers game in OC which I will be skating. More details on that soon.

May 30, The Doll Factory, Los Angeles CA: LADD’s Sirens take on the Tough Cookies. Sirens are the league champs from 2007 and The Cookies are the champs from last season. This bout is going to be intense! Don’t miss it.

June 20, 21 Austin TX: Battle on the Bank. TXRD is hosting this year’s banked track roller derby tournament. All star derby girls from all across the country will descend upon Austin this weekend to prove their mettle. Go, LA Riettes! Tickets here.

*June 27, The Doll Factory, Los Angeles CA: LADD’s Aftershockers vs. ACDG’s Rocket Queens. Our banked track B team takes on the formidable Rocket Queens from ACDG. I’m an alternate on the Aftershockers roster so I *might* be skating in this bout. Either way, it’s gonna be a great match! Tickets avail soon.

June 28, The Doll Factory, Los Angeles, CA: LADD’s Baby Doll Brawl. I’m not 100% sure about this date yet but I’m adding this here just in case because the Baby Doll Brawls promise some of the best roller derby you will ever see! So mark the date and pay attention to our website for more details. You do not want to miss this! The Baby Doll Brawl features LADD’s up and coming skaters (those who aren’t on teams yet). As our league grows, the fresh meat skaters get better and better and they want to compete more than anyone! Be sure to support our newest LADD skaters!
