Yuri and I climbed up to the roof of my apartment building to capture some video of the brush fire in the Hollywood Hills today. Blogging.la has the best photos I’ve seen. NPR says the fire is under control now but over 150 acres burned. No structural damage or injuries, amazingly. Looks like a couple teenagers set the blaze.

Okay – a) I’m really jealous you can get up on the roof of your apartment. And b) for some reason I really love the shot of your foot going on the ladder.

here’s my quick video from the other side of the hill. unfortunately i was like right up in it so there’s not much to see. but notice how blue our skies are on this side!

I’m from Australia, and the Hollywood Sign is such a big inspiration to me, I want to live in Hollywood! So when I heard there was a fire on the hills, on the radio, I was so worried that it would effect the sign! I went onto the website and kept watching the live webcam to see what was happening, I felt so helpless all the way on the other side of the world here, that was all I could do!
