[...] Many of you know I’ve had a crazy few months. Between a frightening internet stalker situation and leaving my job, my life has been a bit in turmoil. Through chaos comes clarity, it seems, as I’ve been coming to a lot of realizations about what I want from my life. But how do I get there? With so many interests and opportunities, I feel pulled in too many directions. How can I pursue my interests in the way that is best for me? How can I be truest to myself and make the decisions that will best help me become the person I want to be? How can I utilize whatever skills I have to create the broadest impact (outwardly and inwardly)? Every decision weighs heavily. At the very least, I’ve known for a while that I need a fresh start. In a lot of ways, that’s what the trip to Asia is about. I need to disconnect for a bit, give myself a chance to slow down, and most importantly reframe how I’m looking at the world and my place in it. [...]

Bolivia and Peru can make for a fun backpacking adventure; my wife and I did it back in '99, visiting Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and La Paz:

One quick bit of advice - don't do Machu Picchu as a day trip. Spend a couple of nights at Aguas Calientes so you can visit the ruins without being overrun by turistas.

You should go work @ my aunt's orphanage/school for homeless boys in Tanzania. Not only do you get way the hell out of town and into a wonderfully simpler world, but you'll be working with hard core baptist missionaries. Give you some nice counterpoints for your atheism project no doubt.

[...] From her post on Mickipedia.com: Big changes are afoot in the Mickiverse. I wanted to do a quick post here to update y’all on the goings on. I’ve recently decided to leave my position as Director of Community at Revver. It’s been an amazing year and I just want to thank everyone for their constant support and friendship. I’m so honored to be a part of the growing videoblogging community and I couldn’t be more excited about where all this new media business is headed. [...]
