How can I be truest to myself and make the decisions that will best help me become the person I want to be? How can I utilize whatever skills I have to create the broadest impact (outwardly and inwardly)? Every decision weighs heavily. At the very least, I’ve known for a while that I need a fresh start. In a lot of ways, that’s what the trip to Asia is about. Bolivia and Peru can make for a fun backpacking adventure; my wife and I did it back in ‘99, visiting Cusco, Machu Picchu, Lake Titicaca and La Paz:

One quick bit of advice – don’t do Machu Picchu as a day trip. Spend a couple of nights at Aguas Calientes so you can visit the ruins without being overrun by turistas.

You should go work @ my aunt’s orphanage/school for homeless boys in Tanzania. Not only do you get way the hell out of town and into a wonderfully simpler world, but you’ll be working with hard core baptist missionaries. Give you some nice counterpoints for your atheism project no doubt.
